The Gauldrons is a combination of shingle shoreline, beautiful sandy beach and unusual rock formations. This hidden gem is a fantastic place for coastal walks, birdwatching or exploring with kids.
To get to it, drive through the village of Machrihanish and then turn right across a cattle grid, past a wee cottage. Ignore the unpromising looking industrial buildings on your right (a Marine Research Lab for the University of Stirling). Instead head straight on for the Seabird Observatory or follow the track round to the left to access the shoreline and beach.
