Campbeltown Heritage Trail
Campbeltown Heritage Trail Group delivers guided historic walking tours every Wednesday in July and August. Come along to find out about Campbeltown’s historic past, its rich heritage, its people and its stories. Starting at 2pm outside the Aqualibrium, the tours last approximately one hour and cover the main aspects of Campbeltown’s history. There is no need to book your place in advance. The trail was set up in 2010 and is made up of local volunteers who deliver the tours free of charge for the public. Leaflets are available all year round from our website, enabling you to walk the route yourself. The Heritage Trail Group also host Architectural tours, where you can gain an insight into some of Campbeltown’s finest buildings and their history.

The Mull of Kintyre Half Marathon and 10k has been ‘running’ for 9 years and has grown to become one of the biggest events in Campbeltown. The MOKRUN weekend doesn’t just consist of running but there are expos, pasta parties and ceilidhs. The race takes place on the bank holiday weekend at the end of May each year and is the same weekend as the Kintyre Songwriter’s Festival. MOKRUN has been voted by Runners World readers the number 1 race in the UK for 3 years! Race entries for 2014 sold out within 36 hours!
